Skydiving is too much for some of us to handle. What more is extreme skydiving?

For us inexperienced folks, skydiving is terrifying enough even without the word “extreme” before it. In fact, I used to ask skydiving veterans if the activity is extreme at all times. I was quite amazed when I first heard that it’s not always like that. I learned that skydiving is apart from extreme skydiving. Some people new to the sport might think that extreme skydiving does not suggest the use of parachute. Yes, that is completely extreme! Don’t worry though, skydiving and extreme skydiving both requires the use of parachutes.

To make things easy to comprehend, this is how usual skydiving works: jump from the plane, draw out the parachute cord and go down gradually to land. To many professionals, repeating these steps lessens the thrill in it. My friend, who is a professional skydiving instructor, has told me before that after several jumps it turned out to be unexciting. While most of us would say that parachuting down to earth is entirely unusual, it can in fact be monotonous to some people.

This is the reason why skydivers try extreme stunts while in air. They record videos of themselves leaving the plane and not opening their shoots yet for a faster drop. I’ve seen some of my friend’s videos and they are out of this world! Along with his team, they hold each other’s hands or bodies to form pleasant patterns. What adds to the adventure is the limited time they have before opening their parachute and reaching the ground. The artistic formations they create are not simple thus intense understanding of freefall concepts is required. On the other hand, we humans are always imaginative, proposing to a girlfriend and getting a tattoo while in freefall are some of the earlier extreme skydiving videos made.
